Impact on the war
Before the tank was introduced into the war there was a stalemate and neither side was advancing on the other. When the tank was introduced they were able to use them to advance on the other side by advancing through no mans land and over the barbed wire so that artillery was able to advance behind them. Connections to Today
Over the years the tank has evolved greatly. Before the tank only had an average speed of 2 MPH and now tanks can move at speeds up to 45 MPH. The modern tanks are also able to fit a crew of 4 people. Modern tanks are used to travel through enemy territory at a higher rate of speed and help infantry and armored Calvary advance. Who Invented the Tank
The first ideas about the tank were in the 15th century and over time the ideas were greater developed. Then in 1911 Lancelot DE Mole got tired of traveling over the rough terrain in the western Australian countryside. He developed, and then submitted the idea of a tracked armored vehicle in 1912 to the British War Office. Later in June of 1913 he received a letter stating that his idea had been rejected. The tank wasn't finally created until September 26, 1916 in Great Britain. Pros and Cons of the Tank
